The village ski resort of St. Anton is located

in Western Austria. St. Anton has a long history

and has been a popular ski destination for decades.

St. Anton was host to the Alpine World Ski Championship

in 2001.

The winter ski season usually begins each year

around the end of November.  St. Anton has long been

considered among the top European ski destinations and

most enthusiast agree.

Every year the resort  holds its annual  Krampus Festival.

Krampus is a mythical  creature recognized in Alpine

countries.  According to legend, Krampus accompanies

St. Nicholas during the Christmas season, warning and

punishing bad children, while St. Nicholas gives gifts to

good children.

A world class resort with excellent skiing makes St. Anton

a popular destination and advance reservations are

recommended.
